Alice (the real mamasan) planned a BIG (ahahahahah) girls night out to commemorate the movie SATC. if you dont know what SATC is, then i highly recommend visiting your local DVD store. honestly. where have you been? SATC or also known as Sex and the City is a modern women’s mantra. its something almost every girl/lady/chick/woman i know will feel a connection to, they see something in themselves on screen. It started of being one of the top rated TV shows, and now has its BIG (whoops) finale on the silver screen. sigh, yes i know. it was amazing. it was utterly and totally sublime. its a girl thing.

her shoes, her clothes and her bags. sighhhhh

Photobucket

im a clutch person. and im so jealous!

Photobucket

who gets aay with clothes like these? HONESTLY!! (we women have to dress up more, enjoy dressing up more!)

the brother mentioned the other day, chick flicks is when ONE person dies slowly (aka 123 minutes of the film) and a guys movie is where ALOT of people die REALLY quickly. how true. i love chick flicks. always have, always will. its the suppressed romantic in me i think. i like the storyline, i like the emotions, the romance the stupidity of it and the ‘come on already, get togetherrrrrr!!!’ moments of it. its unrealistically wonderful.

Photobucket

still jealous!

Photobucket

from one of the older episodes i think. cant remember which season.

and here i thought the maxi dress was going out. guess not!!

the parts i loved best about SATC? the shoes, the bags, the clothes, the emotions (a few of us girls shed tears.. awww) and the amazing places featured in the movie. we all talked about it after, who do you most see yourself as? im a cross between Miranda and Carrie i think. i work too much and yet i have time to blog. heh. i would like to know who sees themself as Sam? no shame there, she’s an amazing 50 yr old!! seriously!

soooooooo,

there was 8 of us for dinner (alice, Emily, Antonia, MJ, Yixin, Karen, Mariegrace and moi. Bug (not her real name) came abit later, but dint join us for the movie) we went to Pastis. it’s some french cuisine restaurant in the city. now, the food was ok. passable but not really worth $33 per plate. ouch! but the wine.. that was just amazing! like really amazing! the dessert was urgh. and the service was atrocious. actually, the waitress was really good, she suggested the wine, the entrees and took our orders in a nice prompt manner, but the maitre d whom i complained to about marie and karens crepe suzzettes’ was appaling. he claimed that that is how the sauce was supposed to taste like. it was totally yucks. felt like downing shots of cointreau. and he basically told me that this is how it is, and how the chef cooks it is final. i understand that, but i am letting you know that i dont think its really edible, because IT TASTE LIKE ALCOHOL! its supposed to be flambe. (as in flaming desserts meaning alcohol is burned off) come on!! sigh. after about 10 minutes of me and him arguing, he sullenly asked if i wanted a new dessert, i said no i dont, i just want you to know and maybe tell the chef. and he flounced (yes i know, FLOUNCED!!) off and later bitched about it to the other staff. what a loser! i would have complained to the manager, but we were late, i dint want to cause a scene, and in all honesty, it was such a small matter. but seriously, coming from someone who has worked on the other side of the table, customers are always right. if they dont like it, they dont like it. you change it. you make sure they leave happy. i was NOT HAPPY!!! (ok, spew over now!)

the stupid so-called lambe dessert

Photobucket

should have ordered MJ’s profiteroles dessert. it was so much better!

we were NEARLY late for the movie, but in the end made it in time. you could practically hear the buzz of excitement in the cinema. and throughout the movie, the gasps of amazement and the sighs of romanticism was so in sync. at the crucial moment (you have to watch it, i wont spoil it here) i passed the tissues around. it was a really emo moment. i think all girls would have felt the pain, the emotions and the broken-ness of that scene. we all (i think except Em and Alice) teared up. Marie cried the most, pansy! LOL.

we went to Opium after for drinks, and of course to gossip about the movie. the shoessss, the bagssss, the clothesss, the everything. i love that about these kinds of movies. its just such a girly thing to do. sigh! i wont talk about the piking of emily and alice when we went to TABAC (a small alleyway bar on Swanson) tsk tsk, but i went home around 2pm, really tired from the Codral i took that afternoon and lack of sleep all day.

like alice says, we women are like fine wine, we are waiting for that vintage year to be opened. LOL or was it the older the vintage, the better the wine? i forgot! but im-a-gonna fine me a Mr. BIG! (oh, but my ultimate fav SATC man is Aidan. sigh. aidan aidan!)

nighty night!
